E2 Visa | Investment With shareholding

business plan for e2 visa

Two partners can join the Business and also independently qualify for the E2 Visa.

The E-2 visa allows a maximum of two foreign investors as 50/50 equal partners in the same business. Each partner needs to own at least 50% of the business. Both partners may apply for the E-2 visa as joint investors. And both investors’ spouses and children under the age of 21 and not married may apply for E-2 dependents visas as well.

This is a great opportunity to share investment capital, expenses, skills, and expertise.

Major conditions of E2 partnership are as follows;

Each of the partner’s investments will be deemed as “substantial” for the type of business invested in. And most importantly, as long as each respective partner’s investment does not “dilute” the value of the other thus there should be absolutely no 49/51 or other ratios but pure 50/50.

However, if there are two partners in business and only one of them has to apply for an E2 visa. The other is a lawful permanent resident. Green holder of US citizen then the applicant must have 51% of the shares rather than 50% in another scenario.
